About Tim Watson Artist

I was born in Solihull 1964. My mother was from Prestatyn and father from Lincolnshire. As my father was in the RAF I attended 11 schools!
My art training was at Wrexham College of Art for my Foundation year and then Newcastle upon Tyne for my BA Hons Degree in Fine Art.
I have partaken in several occupations including the motor trade, running my own interior design and specialist painting business, primary school teacher in Rhyl and Prestatyn and since 2002 the joint owner, with my wife Lynn, of the Kinmel Arms in St George.
I have always drawn, painted, photographed, written and kept sketchbooks of ideas since finishing my degree.
I have undertaken many commissions of paintings for private collections, usually work of quite a large format.
I am fortunate to have my own studio which was set up in May 2015 and permanent gallery space in our restaurant and bar.
Original work is exhibited continually there and for sale framed or unframed.

My influences are all around and inside me.

I chose to come back to live in North Wales, after my degree, because of the landscape and its diversity and because it is my home.
I have spent my life climbing, walking, cycling, swimming and running in mountains and am a gatherer of experiences!
Sketches, written descriptions, natural objects such as stones, wood and grasses give me inspiration.
I am a prolific reader and the written word features heavily in my work.
The geography, geology, flora, fauna and landscape of Snowdonia has always held a fascination for me.
The way in which I interact with it physically, mentally and spiritually is my interest.
The wholeness of being from the atomic level to the galaxy we reside in, is open for our consciousness and intelligence to explore.
Trips abroad always inspire me with new landscapes to take in but home is where the heart is.
